Why Do People Perform Collective Action?: Underlying Motivations of Allies behind Offline and Online Activism

We examined collective action in online/offline activism when the issue was either framed as in-group privilege or out-group discrimination and warmth or competency of the group was emphasised. When competency was emphasised, participants engaged more in offline collective activism. When warmth was emphasised, participants engaged more in online activism.
