Abstract

We propose to investigate 10-year-olds' thinking and emotional processes when approaching STEM problems in relation to their individual differences in self-directedness in learning. STEM problems are presented to autistic, gifted, and normally developing children who think aloud whatever that comes to their minds when attempting the problem.
