Abstract
Substance use is associated with somatic symptoms, but research on the directionality of this relationship is mixed. Internalizing symptoms are associated with both somatization and substance abuse. This project aims to elucidate the bidirectional effects between substance use and somatic symptoms and explore the underlying role of anxiety and depression.
