Abstract
Puberty is thought to be linked to the development of eating disorders, but the exact nature of this relationship is disputed. Meta-analytic evidence suggests that early pubertal timing and advanced pubertal status correlates with greater risk of development of eating disorders in females, with a less clear effect for males.
