Abstract
We report a materials-based response bias difference in recognition memory for the same set of objects. Response bias was neutral for line drawings and nouns representing those items (e.g., penguin, shirt, apple) but conservative for grayscale photos. We discuss what this suggests about the mechanism underlying materials-based bias effects.
