Gender Inequality in Psychological Research

Abstract
We examined 28,000 publications in psychology journals to document gender representation in editorship and first-authorship. We find that publications have mostly been edited and first-authored by men. When editors have been men, but not when editors have been women, there has been a disproportionate amount of publications by men.
