Abstract
Anxiety and depression affect academic performance. Pre-COVID college-aged students (n = 313) exhibited mild to severe depression (30.3%) and anxiety (36.4%). Higher anxiety was associated with worse recall, slower processing, and executive dysfunction suggesting that even sub-clinical anxiety and depression levels can adversely impact cognition and potentially academic performance.
