Abstract

This study compares the romantic functioning of BDSM practitioners to college students and the general population. BDSM practitioners were equal to other samples on relationship satisfaction and the romantic conflict tactic of negotiation. They were also equal to or lower than other samples in psychological aggression and physical assault.
