Using Brief Narrative Interventions to Shift Implicit Gender Stereotypes

Abstract
Across two large pre-registered studies, we examine the effectiveness of short narrative interventions on changing implicit and explicit gender stereotypes. We find that stereotypical narratives increased implicit gender stereotypes (relative to controls), whereas counterstereotypical narratives decreased them, regardless of the relatability or detail in the narrative.
