Abstract

How do individuals determine others’ attachment styles? Our research found that naive observers accurately reported participants' attachment anxiety and avoidance using a short stream-of-conscious transcript. This suggests that only a thin-slice of information is needed to detect another’s attachment orientation. We test and discuss potential mediators of this association.
