Strategies for Reducing Civil Servant Turnover within the Federal Government

Abstract
Voluntary turnover has steadily increased in the federal government. This phenomenological study revealed four themes: job dissatisfaction, compensation and benefits, promotion and growth ability, and organizational leadership. Recommendations included understanding the motivation factors, developing better compensation packages, developing a sustainable obtainable advancement process, and developing leadership within the organization.
