Folk Explanations of Aggressive Behavior

Victims often claim aggressive behaviors are more harmful than perpetrators do. Participants recalled times when they harmed another person (i.e., perpetrator memory) and when they were harmed by another person (i.e., victim memory) and then explained their behavior. We coded whether participants' explanations were framed in self-serving ways.
