Prediction of Nonsuicidal Self-Injury Using the Past Nonsuicidal Self-Injury Implicit Association Test

Results from two preregistered studies (N = 84; N = 347) showed that a newly developed implicit measure (a) differentiated injury groups from non-injury groups, (b) prospectively predicted nonsuicidal self-injury behavior one month later, and (c) improved prediction above and beyond strong causal risk factors of nonsuicidal self-injury.
