Abstract

Exploration of alcohol expectancies in individuals with trauma history. Sample of 250 college students completed Traumatic Events Questionnaire (Vrana & Lauterbach, 1994) and Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (Babor,et al., 2001). Results indicated that alcohol expectancies mediated the relationship between PTSD and alcohol use; specifically, assertiveness, dependence, self-regulation, and socializing.
