Abstract

Sleep dysregulation is characteristic of bipolar disorder, but few studies have examined prospective associations across development. Using data from an ongoing longitudinal, community-based study of 2450 girls, we observed that sleep problems in adolescence uniquely predicted mania and depression in young adulthood, controlling for adolescent mania and depression.
