Abstract

To offer insight into the subjective experience of selfies, this research examined self-reflections of society’s impressions of selfies compared to elsies (Study 1) and attributions for negative feedback in response to such images (Study 2). Implications are discussed in terms of the sociometer theory and self-serving attribution bias.
