Abstract
Post-graduate students often face work-life conflicts that hinder their well-being. The personal factors underlying this phenomenon remain unclear. The present year-long prospective study revealed that self-criticism and self-compassion predicted distinct work-life outcomes among post-graduate students (N=113). Psychological need satisfaction mediated these associations. Therefore, self-attitudes help explain adaptation to work-life demands.
