The Mediating Role of Rumination in the Relationship between Shame, but Not Guilt, and Procrastination

Abstract
Procrastination and rumination have been shown to correlate uniquely and robustly with each other and with shame, but not with guilt. The current study examined the hypothesis that rumination will mediate the effect of shame, but not guilt, on procrastination. Results supported this mediation model.
