Abstract
Recently, researchers suggested that educational attainment and academic skills may be protective against the development of adult criminality. In the current study, we found that relations between childhood factors and criminal justice involvement were mediated by achievement, and absences. Implications for early preventive intervention focused on educational attainment are discussed.
