Peer Advocates with Formal Training Report More Hyperarousal Symptoms of Secondary Traumatic Stress

This study analyzed the impact of formal training with peer advocates (PAs). Results indicated that formal training was associated with more hyperarousal symptoms of secondary traumatic stress. Given prior research, we suspected a potential confound that PAs with formal training may work more often with complex-trauma in clients.
