Abstract

Individuals with alexithymia are much more likely to be depressed. Although men experience higher levels of alexithymia than women, they exhibit lower rates of depression. The present study proposes that gender moderated the relationship between alexithymia and depression, =3.99, 95% CI [0.74, 7.24], = 2.43, =.017.
