Abstract

Mock jurors (MTurk sample, N=863) with a high (vs. low) need for forensic evidence rated a defendant’s guilt lower and expected more forensic evidence from the prosecution. Need for forensics was not related to crime drama TV viewing. The CSI Effect was not supported, and remedying instructions had no effect.
