Listening to Young Mumblers: Mumbling As a Potential Marker of Distress

Examined correlates of mumbling in a sample of college students.  Participants who reported often mumbling (past or present) differed from those who reported rarely or never mumbling in terms of anxiety, FNE, and alexithymia.  The mumbling group was also significantly more likely to report a history of unwanted sexual contact.
