Valuing, Using, and Learning Mother Tongue (MT): Perceptions, Practices, and Outcomes in English Bilingual Populations
The session presents new studies on perception, practices, and learning of mother tongue in bilinguals. Paper 1 examines perceptions in a large-scale community sample. Paper 2 investigates parental language-mixing attitudes, practices, and child’s language use. Paper 3 explores impact of home language and literacy practices on children's language learning outcomes.
