Abstract

Students in psychology statistics courses often experience high levels of math-related anxiety. We hypothesized that implementing intentional writing exercises can interrupt the deep-rooted cycle of math anxiety through building math confidence. Results are immediately relevant to statistics instructors, who can develop writing-based interventions to circumvent students’ previous negative math experiences.
