Abstract

Psychological research on smartphone use often lack objective measures. In a study of 188 iPhone users, longer use time, as objectively recorded by Screen Time, predicted more everyday attention failures. However, users who had higher proportion of “productivity” apps use time had less attention failures, mind-wandering, and negative emotions.
