Abstract

Why do people post selfies? A mixed-methods analysis assessed selfie-posting across three cultural regions (Northeast, Midwest, Lebanon) and found that the most common motivation to post was feeling one looked good. Each of 5 motivations was related to a different sub-type of narcissism, and motivations varied by gender and culture.
