Abstract

Using materials from a Cognitive Psychology course, we found that stronger prerequisite knowledge (i.e., graphing, experimental design) and better performance on near transfer tasks related to a novel topic (i.e., recall of the text, basic graphing using text variables, and concept mapping) each predicted better performance on far transfer tasks.
