Abstract

Undergraduates in three sections of biopsychology completed a 70-item neuromyth inventory at the beginning and end of a semester. Their end-of-semester belief rates dropped significantly compared to their beginning-of-semester performance and to introductory psychology student’s performance. A targeted debunking intervention for 12 specific neuromyths, however, produced inconsistent results.
