Just the Two of Us (and Your Phone): Individual Differences in Responses to Phubbing in Close Relationships

A survey of American undergraduates reported their emotional responses to a romantic partner or close friend ignoring them for a mobile device. Individuals with higher anxiety, higher relationship jealousy, or more problematic phone use themselves were also more likely to react to “phubbing” behaviors with greater annoyance and jealousy.
