Abstract

Social media targeted at college locations promote visual depictions of the university’s party culture. Engagement with university specific social media was positively associated with alcohol behaviors, drinking norms, alcohol identity, and fear of missing out. Frequency of viewing social media was negatively associated with perceived danger of alcohol and loneliness.
