Abstract

This study examined stress, alcohol use, and coping strategies in graduate students. Greater alcohol use, disengagement coping, and less strategic coping predicted greater alcohol consequences. Additionally, greater use of drinking to cope and strategic coping predicted greater perceived stress. Contrary to expectations, alcohol use did not significantly predict stress.
