Abstract

The present study presents a novel coloring task that allows preschool children to demonstrate their knowledge of physiological and cognitive dimensions of emotional awareness. Results indicate that knowledge of the physiological, but not the cognitive, dimension relate to individual differences in emotion regulation as indicated by parent self-report.
