Abstract

Social media sites are frequently cited as in-class distractions for students. The current study explored media multi-tasking during class and students’ fear of missing out (FOMO). Both in-class Twitter and Instagram use were predicted by students’ FOMO, while SnapChat and Facebook use were only predicted by age.
