Abstract

To investigate variation in active learning science courses, we analyzed 56 comparison studies from three prominent discipline-based, science education journals. We focused on three sources of variation in active learning courses: (a) variation in active learning activities, (b) variation in non-active learning pedagogical features, and (c) variation in the structure/design.
