Abstract

This study examines whether dependent personality mediates the association between helicopter parenting and autonomy support with alcohol/drug-use in emerging adults. We found that dependent personality mediates the association between helicopter parenting and alcohol-use, but not drug-use. Dependent personality did not mediate the associations between autonomy support with drug/alcohol-use.
