Abstract

This study aims to investigate the reciprocal relationships between parent-adolescent communication and self-esteem in a sample of 296 Chinese junior middle school students over a course of approximately 3 months.Multilevel intervention that incorporates both individual counselling and family intervention should be more effective in improving parent-adolescent communication and adolescent self-esteem.
