Abstract

Researchers developed a survey to measure teachers' beliefs about gesture use during classroom instruction. Teachers (n=192) believe instructional gestures are valuable for learners but how beneficial depended on grade and subject being taught. The results could be used to inform the design of professional development curriculum that promotes instructional gestures.
