Abstract

The effects of feedback on learning are powerful, though variable. We examined how students learn from self-focused feedback when presented in a non-evaluative context (Experiment 1) and an evaluative context (Experiment 2). Self-focused feedback had positive effects in a non-evaluative context and negative effects in an evaluative context.
