State Dependent Learning and Note Taking Strategies

Abstract
Students who took notes by hand out-performed students who took notes using a laptop on a quiz. They earned higher overall scores, driven by better performance on conceptual questions. We failed to find evidence for state-dependent learning even when students who took notes using a laptop completed the quiz online.
