Psychology, Society, and Social Justice during the 1960s and 70s: Historical Analysis of the Journal of Social Issues, American Psychologist, and Psychology Today As a Teaching Tool in the History of Psychology

We make the case for using historical analysis of articles from flagship journals within our discipline as a tool for teaching the History of Psychology. We discuss using primary literature for a qualitative research project investigating psychology’s role in social justice issues. Student feedback on project benefits is also discussed.
