The Impact of Smartphone Notifications and Its Effect on Proofreading Accuracy

We restricted participants’ access to their smartphone to investigate whether separation anxiety would predict poorer performance in a computerized proofreading task. Using an eye-tracker, we also monitored their eye fixations toward an inset clock display to evaluate their anxiety over when they would regain access to their smartphone.
