Should I Cold-Call on Students? Yes, but They Will Likely Hate You for It

This study looked at college students’ perceptions of cold-calling. Findings indicate students are more likely to exhibit favorable behaviors (e.g., complete assignments) in classes where cold-calling is used but they are also more likely to feel uncomfortable in such settings. Suggestions for compassionate approaches to cold-calling are offered.
