Evaluating Approaches to Developing Research Skills: Master’s Thesis and Its Alternatives.

Developing research competency in psychology master’s programs is difficult, especially when programs lack resources, including full-time faculty. Appropriateness and effectiveness of traditional master’s thesis and its alternatives are discussed and evaluated in light of the type of the program, resources, student preparation, intended learning outcomes, and assessment of student learning.
