Using Certainty-Based Marking to Improve Metacognition

Abstract
In general, people are overconfident in their abilities; the same is true for students. This study used certainty-based marking to improve students' metacognition. After the first quiz, students began to self-calibrate, which led them to produce better predictions of their quiz scores and was related to their overall course grade.
