Using Reading Questions to Encourage Reading

Abstract

We provided 10-item reading question guides for 15 modules in introductory psychology. Students completed a pretest and posttest of prior psychological knowledge. A 2 x 2 ANOVA showed significant main effects and interactions. Students changed their incorrect answers from pretest to posttest only if there had been a reading question.
