Delaware Project Awards University of Arizona Student for Pilot Intervention to Help Teen Boys
A program aimed at redefining clinical psychological science training has recognized Jennifer Duchschere, a graduate student at the University of Arizona, for a novel intervention she created and piloted for adolescent males in juvenile detention. Duchschere is the recipient of the Delaware Project Student Award in recognition of her BREAK intervention program’s role in bringing laboratory research into community settings for juvenile justice populations.

Applications Open for Estes Fund Summer School for Behavioral Modeling
The Barcelona Summer School for Advanced Modeling of Behavior (BAMB), with the support of the William K. & Katherine W. Estes Fund, will offer 30 psychological scientists at the PhD and early career levels the opportunity to learn the conceptual and technical skills necessary to carry out model-based behavioral analysis. The summer school, organized by Alex Hyafil (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona), Christopher Summerfield (Oxford University), and Klaus Wimmer (Centre de Recerca Matemàtica) will be held September 4 – 10, 2019 at the Institut d’Estudis Catalans in Barcelona.

Advanced Modeling of Behavior Summer School Apps Open
The Barcelona Summer School for Advanced Modeling of Behavior (BAMB) is accepting applications for a 30 student course on model based analysis of behavior for cognitive and computational neuroscientists at the PhD and early career levels. The course will run September 4 – 10 at the Institut d’Estudis Catalans in Barcelona, Spain. The application deadline is June 3, 2019. Extended Deadline for EuroCogSci 2019 Paper & Poster Submission
The European Conference for Cognitive Science 2019 (EuroCogSci 2019) will be held September 2 to 4 at Ruhr-Universität Bochum in Germany. The conference will feature contributed papers, symposia, and posters covering all subfields of cognitive science, bringing together a large number of experts from Europe and overseas. The call for conference papers and posters has been extended to April 15, 2019. More information on the submission process and conference events is available on the EuroCogSci 2019 website.

Judy Garber to Deliver SSCP Distinguished Scientist Award Address at APS Annual Convention
The Society for the Science of a Clinical Psychology has named APS Fellow Judy Garber as the 2019 recipient of the SSCP Distinguished Scientist Award for her important contributions to clinical psychological science. Judy Garber Garber, the Cornelius Vanderbilt Professor of Psychology and Human Development at Vanderbilt University, will receive the award at the 31st APS Annual Convention, which will be held May 23-26 in Washington, DC. She’ll also give an award address titled “Prevention of Depression in Youth: Some Evidence For, But We Still Need More.” Her 50-minute presentation is scheduled for May 24 at 5:00 p.m.
