National Academy of Sciences Sackler Colloquium
The National Academy of Sciences is hosting the Sackler Colloquium “Biological Embedding of Early Social Adversity: From Fruit Flies to Kindergartners” December 8-10, 2011 in Irvine, CA. The meeting, co-sponsored by the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research and organized by W. Thomas Boyce, Gene E. Robinson and Marla B. Sokolowski, will summon a world class, cross disciplinary assembly of basic, biomedical and social scientists to explore, using new developmental neurogenomic approaches, why disease, disorder and developmental misfortune are so unevenly distributed.
The Arthur M. Sackler Colloquia of the National Academy of Sciences address scientific topics of broad and current interest, cutting across the boundaries of traditional disciplines and feature presentations by leading scientists in the field and discussions with a hundred or more researchers with an interest in the topic.
