Fourteen APS Fellows Elected to Two Prestigious Organizations in 2026
More than a dozen APS Fellows, Charter Members, and award winners have been elected to both the American Academy of Arts & Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences in 2026 elections.
Founded in 1780, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences is both an honorary society that recognizes and celebrates the excellence of its members and an independent research center convening leaders from across disciplines, professions, and perspectives to address significant challenges. More than 250 individuals have been elected to the Academy in 2026. The eight APS Fellows listed constitute the full list in the Section of Psychological Sciences.

Five APS Fellows are among the most recent inductees at the National Academy of Sciences (NAS). Membership in the NAS is a widely accepted mark of excellence in science and is considered one of the highest honors that a scientist can receive.
The academy announced the election of 120 members and 25 international members in 2026 in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research.
