APS Responds to FY 2027 Presidential Budget
04/21/2026
On 04/15/2026, APS sent a letter to members of the House and Senate Appropriations urging them to act immediately to preserve Directorate for Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences (SBE) at the National Science Foundation – programs centrally important to psychological and behavioral science. APS requested Congress take immediate steps to work with NSF leadership to protect the Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences directorate.
Psychological scientists in the U.S. are encouraged to contact their elected representatives to urge they support full funding for SBE. It is important to highlight for lawmakers how fundamental psychological and behavioral sciences research benefit the lives of every American every day.
ACT NOW to let your federal lawmakers know that these cuts are bad for their constituents and bad for the country.
